    #30017

    Hello Everyone,

Anyone on this? This is going to be an important feature in the app that am building and am sure the issue is with the jars as it is happening with other apps also.

Could someone please look into this and suggest on how could I/we proceed further.

    Regards,
    Mani.

Hi Mani! Sorry for the holiday delay with the reply.

I would recommend to check the following:

    – I guess PD4ML runs on a server. Make sure the server (not a client browser) can resolve test4.j.layershift.co.uk DNS name and has a routing to it. Log into the server and try to load any test4.j.layershift.co.uk URL with wget or anything similar.

    – If the above is ok, check logs of test4.j.layershift.co.uk if there were attempts to load the image by PD4ML and error codes (if any).

Border radius is not supported in HTML/CSS properties yet.

Its support has been recently added to SVG renderer module of PD4ML, so if it is needed for decorative reasons, you may use inline SVG graphics for that.

Any update, when border-radius will be supported?
We are waiting for the support.
    Thanks a lot.

I’m using pd4ml to generate pdf using pd4ml taglib. The jsp is rendered with wired characters instead of showing pdf. we are using tiles for rendering jsp.
    ex: %PDF-1.4 %Çåôåð 1 0 obj << /Filter /FlateDecode /Length 940 >> stream xÚÅWmsÚ8þŒŖ™»IfˆcùÇÌäKBҒÒÐë]››aPk[Ž$pé¯ïʐÉÌ&×aÒJÚgß´»Ü[?Á ë÷9“Š‹¼^D` nuß>’‰ÚÎ_$@úõí#ùÏQ*¡mÜ»ä)–Ç”áù¤çqéŠ)s¡×í@ö:;»ùcüûÕäcÿˆ]ßýY÷ü”ïÑnؽߜò+åïßN¿Î’_§Þdø.|E#ÉèõHEô“¯L„tòâÁÊ‚^€ë>@Ž‡24óxq>ì[Ž„8ø9ZÍ«x:ÎÌIÊsP3˅+‹@iٮƻ×O–rRã„áãàôÚÁÌüÐ7{ÌoâŽ?Îj¬v–¸{o5ÈRóãEHE-gC«aÀ&VãøRäú KçL󘝉4!àžÀpl5†hObï;„ág«q1´njµ¿Ýºê†¤†ºÈÙ_jz1³Xó9ƒnj}*ã)¸ w¨z]ñ‰ão%ÿpÊÆ3)®üí·[&ç

The “garbage” is PDF bytes, shown as plain text. Obviously “Content-type” HTTP response header is overridden with a wrong value. Check the server/webapp setting.

I have successfully implemented headers and footers using hard coded style= attributes. Now I need the styles to be dynamic.

Can I reference a style sheet in the header and footer html? If so how?

Mirrored margins (different margins on odd and even pages to allow room for binding when using two sided printing) have been required for a long time. I am hoping you have implemented mirrored margins and I just missed it.

Please confirm whether or not you have implemented mirrored margins.

Why is the HTML entity Α (the capital Greek letter) rendered as a ?.

Is there a problem with my font?

Does PD4ML need an enhancement to support this HTML entity?

If you define headers/footers via API, try to define not only HTML snippet, but a valid HTML doc:

    [language=xml:1yqlfbz1]header.setHtmlTemplate(“” +
    “page $[page] of $[total]“)[/language:1yqlfbz1]

The feature is to be supported by the forthcoming PD4ML v4

    Thanks for your response.
I have changed the weblogic server start parameter to add
-Dweblogic.webservice.i18n.charset=utf-8 and restarted the server. No luck.

then I added the below parameter and restarted the server.
    -Dfile.encoding=utf8

Weblogic Domain path-> bin folder -> setDomainEnv.sh under JAVA_OPTS added the below variable.
    -Dfile.encoding=utf8.

Still it is displaying the same characters. Plz help me what could be the problem.

    Thanks,

It is not about charset / character encoding.

Your webapp should send “Content-type: application/pdf” with HTTP response.

PD4ML taglib implicitly sets the correct HTTP header. (Do you use PD4ML taglib?)
It your case it seems to be overridden with “Content-type: text/plain“.

Have you configured/enabled “TTF Embedding” feature? By default PD4ML supports only Latin-1 charset of built-in Acroread fonts.
