  • in reply to: PD4ML Evaluation License – Serial number?
    #33900

    Hi Anders,

I am afraid it is not related to the license key. By an invalid or missing key it should still produce PDFs, but watermarked with an evaluation banner. Try with a minimalist “Hello, World!” HTML to make sure it works in general.

A blank page normally means the PDF is either corrupted by writing to a disk (file encoding issues etc) or the source HTMLis not parsed correctly (because of JavaScript, for instance)

Now the generated PDF is different from yours:
    – I have 2 pages instead of 1
    – The table is truncated in my PDF
    – The size of my PDF is 10 Ko and yours is 103 Ko

My document embeds TTF fonts, which makes the PDF file size to grow.

In order to solve the table truncation issue you need to trigger pd4ml.setHtmlWidth() API call passing to it a value, that roughly matches the table width in pixels.

Do you have payment in dollars ?,

Let me know which license you’d like to order and we’ll prepare a corresponding order link in USD.

    Hi Cedric,

first please give a try to the most recent snapshot of PD4ML v4.0.8 – it should fix the border issue. I’ve attached a doc, produced on my workstation with a dev build

in reply to: Using page specific headers/footers with the new API
    #33885

In PD4ML v4 setPageHeader(html, …) method injects a portion of the HTML code, enclosed to <pd4ml:page.header>, right after opening <body> tag. The strange behavior (the header printed twice) can only be theoretically explained if the header HTML is not well-formed or misbalanced and somehow as result merges both definitions. However it is difficult to imagine how the code should look like to achieve the effect. Could you please publish what is in Html2 and Html1 variables?

Hi! Please publish HTML code, which could help us to reproduce the issue or contact support by email. Thanks!

Hi Oliver! It has taken longer, but the fix is finally available as v4.0.7

The feature should work in the demo. Is H006.htm from PD4ML’s usage examples? If you use a modified version, please send the HTML sample to support pd4ml com

And sorry for the delay with the reply: the email notifications from the forum are failed to deliver since few weeks, because of a DNS issue. We work on it.

Hi Oliver! Sorry for the delay with the reply and the avatar issue. We are in a transition phase from the older to new web site design, and currently pd4ml.tech runs a dummy design, obviously with the style flaws.

I’ve created a ticket for the hyphen issue and assigned the top priority to it. Hopefully we have a solution within the next week.

    #33700

The issue is going to be fixed with today’s nightly build.

Please note: As names like “$Test” are invalid from HTML spec perspective, they are internally substituted with something like “invalid-name”. So even “$Test” and “$Test1” are different, internally they named identically and may cause unexpected radio button grouping in some contexts.

Hi! I am terribly sorry for the delay with the reply! The forum replication broke some user mapping and we did not receive forum notifications in the meantime.

We added the issue to be fixed with the next release.

In order to output non-Latin text, you need to configure TTF embedding. See https://pd4ml.tech/pdf-fonts/

    #33644

Hi! In PD4ML v4 smartTableBreaks mode can be achieved with CSS properties and HTML structure.

    1. set TR { page-break-inside: avoid } CSS style
    2. Define <thead> table section with row(s) consists of TH cells only

In fact “colspan” is a valid attribute for TD and it does not seem it causes the exception. OutOfMemoryError is an indication of a resource (memory) exhaustion.

How big is the source HTML document? Do you run PD4ML with -Xmx??? JVM parameter?

in reply to: Single License Question
    #33408

Prior to PD4ML v4 our licensing model required to purchase an additional single license to cover development environment. For v4 we removed the requirement, however there are opinions here to return it back. We are collecting statistics now to make the final decision later.

If you order a single license right now, it will also cover your DEV needs – according to the current licensing terms. PD4ML Volume licenses (now they are called PD4ML Dev Site) always covered and are going to cover DEV environment.
