    #33957

    Hi!
You did everything correctly. If you do not apply an evaluation license, PD4ML is in demo mode. The difference between demo and evaluation mode is not that big: the banner is not suppressed, but it is not annoyingly contrast. And there are few minor differences.

Is the banner “demo mode” or “evaluation mode”?

BTW: I’ve just tested your license code and it appears to be valid.

“inverted page” sounds as a program issue. Could you please email us an HTML sample and its resulting PDF tp helpdesk pd4ml com?

You can determine the actual temp dir location by an inspecting of the system property System.getProperty("java.io.tmpdir");. Also you may override the property with JVM command-line parameter.

However in your particular case the problem reason seems to be other: try to explicitly define the document encoding. Now your on screenshots it looks like a two-bytes encoding is treated as a default single byte encoding (ISO-8859-1) – that causes the garbage texts in the output.

An access to the product source code is an additional option for PD4ML Site DMS and UA licenses. See https://pd4ml.tech/products/

You may upgrade to PD4ML Site DMS/SRC by paying the license list price difference.

It is possible to store the .lic file to the classpath root, however there could be some not obvious issues (i.e. .lic file is loaded by different class loader than used by the PD4ML classes).

As the first step try to save .lic file to the work dir of your application, point to the .lic file location with applyLicense() API call ( https://pd4ml.tech/javadoc/com/pd4ml/PD4ML.html#applyLicense-java.lang.String- ) and enable diagnostics output (pd4ml.setLogLevel(255)).

If the demo banner has gone, remove the applyLicense() call: the work dir is a location, where it tries to find the file by default.

If the banner is still there, inspect the diagnostics output for possible issues

Hi! An access to https://pd4ml.tech/maven2/ and to https://pd4ml.tech/v4/ is not protected with any password.
https://pd4ml.tech/maven2-src/ is accessible for PD4ML SRC licensees only.

Right. org.zefer.pd4ml.PD4ML are wrapper classes are included to v4 JAR to translate the older calls to the new API.

Older v4 builds had troubles to find/read pd4ml.lic in some environments – obviously you faced with the problem.

Try the newest JAR to see if it solves the problem or not.

If you do not use pd4ml.lic and pass the license number string via PD4ML v4 API call, you may still access the API even from org.zefer.pd4ml.PD4ML. There is a public field PD4ML.pd4mlNew – a reference to its wrapped com.pd4ml.PD4ML instance

Do you mean “PD4ML v3 compatibility API of PD4ML v4”?

If yes, I would recommend to try v4.0.8, or even better v4.0.9 snapshot. v4.0.9 release is expected the next week.

With PD4ML v4 you’ve got two options: to use PD4ML v3 API wrapper (org.zefer.pd4ml), which translates v3 API calls to v4, or to use PD4ML v4 API (com.pd4ml). Both packages have PD4ML class.

In v4 API you may specify base URL in renderHTML() params. See JavaDoc.

In v3 API wrapper the API call pd4ml.render(reader, out, params.destDir.toURI().toURL()); should just work.

The issue is reproducible on our side, however the reason is not quite clear. We’ll investigate.

The simplest workaround would be just to paint the head row to the same background color:
    tr:first-child {background-color: #eeeeee;}

Hi! For the renewal please contact sales@ pd4ml com – we’ll provide you with the instructions and the order link.

With PD4ML v4 license you’ll get a license key, which is valid for all PD4ML versions released before the maintenance period expired (3 months since purchase date for single PD4ML licenses and 1 year for others).

If by accident your build script pulled the newest release from PD4ML Maven repository after the maintenance is expired, it is going to switch PD4ML to evaluation mode. In the case you would only need to remove the version and download the one released before the maintenance expiration.

    #33908

I tried to embed the TTF to my document following the link https://pd4ml.tech/pdf-fonts/ but still have the same size (10 Ko).

Try to invoke pd4ml.setLogLevel(255) and inspect the log output for possible font reading/embedding errors.

I also tried pd4ml.setHtmlWidth() for table truncation but does not solve the problem. However, pd4ml.adjustHtmlWidth(true) solved it.

adjustHtmlWidth() is an automated version of setHtmlWidth(). Just try to increase setHtmlWidth() parameter in small amounts until you achieved acceptable scale factor and layout.

You may also run PD4ML in GUI mode and experiment with htmlWidth parameter by a resizing the app window:
    #running-pd4ml-as-a-gui-application

    #33906

Hmm… It seems the issue is JDK-specific. We experienced that before with OpenJDK older than v9 – for some reason it print typographical dash character instead of minus, which makes the PDF code invalid:

    1.48148 0 0 ?1.48148 0 1 cm
    0 ?1 1 0 0 0 cm
    0 j
    2 J

We implemented a workaround more than one year before, and the issue is not reproducible anymore on our side. It strange you still face with it.

Try the JVM parameter as suggested by one of our customers:
    -Djava.locale.providers=COMPAT

Does it change anything in your Eclipse environment?
